Straub–Huillet Film Festival

\ CCBB

Digital / Editorial / Print / Visual Identity

Organized by Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), this was the first exhibition in Brazil dedicated to the work of the French filmmaker couple Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet. Known for their experimental approach to language, Straub and Huillet’s distinctive work invites audiences to rethink cinema and art as acts of resistance and human liberation.

Through an immersion in sketches and notebooks documenting the filmmakers’ process, the rectangle emerged as a central element in the visual identity design. This shape not only defined space but also introduced new visual possibilities, suggesting screen formats and offering fresh interpretations and rewritings—mirroring the couple’s own process of revisiting and reworking the creations of great artists in their films.
